Career and major choice test: interests, abilities and values
A three-module test for teenagers aged 14 to 16. The result is prepared as a psychologist's report and links study directions to the state exam groups of Azerbaijan.
Who it is for
Teenagers aged 14 to 16 facing a choice of higher education and major, and the psychologists who work with them. The teenager answers the items and the psychologist sees the result.
What problem it solves
A major is often chosen on family opinion or random information. The test builds a profile of the teenager's interests, abilities and values so the psychologist can talk with concrete results.
What is in the test
Interests (RIASEC)
60 items, 6 types, 10 items per type. Based on the Holland model.
Abilities
72 items: verbal, mathematical, abstract-logical, spatial and working memory.
Values
40 items across Edgar Schein's 8 career anchors.
Compact report
Dominant interest type, ability levels, the value anchor and a combined interpretation text.
Study direction
The profile is linked to the state exam groups and broad major categories.
Contradiction warning
When interest is high but the matching ability is low, the report says so.
Split into 2 sessions
The 80 to 90 minute test can be split into two sessions to avoid fatigue.
Print and PDF
The report can be printed or saved as a PDF. The test is available in Azerbaijani and Russian.
The test is an aid in choosing a major. The decision is made in a joint talk between the teenager, the family and the psychologist. The test does not diagnose.

Meeting
The result is interpreted in a talk with the teenager and the parent.
Access
